It's supposed to be the Latin Salvē! (Hail!), pronounced sal-way, but I couldn't wrangle the diacritic in the initial frenzy of creating a blog, and left out the exclamation mark and will have to get around to amending both when I have something better to do. So instead it refers to 'a medical ointment used to soothe the head or other body surface'.
